Rediscovered Patriots – Too often, the stories we hear about soldiers in the Revolutionary War focus primarily on white men. But what about the contributions of Black Americans, Native Americans, and multiracial individuals? Why did they choose to fight, and how were they treated?

Explore the roles they played, the sides they supported, and the challenges they faced. Discover the remarkable stories of Black soldiers, Native Americans, and people of mixed ancestry who served during the Revolutionary War and helped shape the nation’s history.

Presenter: Dr. Susanne Johnston was an educator for 47 years in public and private schools and universities in the area. She specializes in the American Revolution, Native American Issues, genealogy, genetics and forensics.
