Black History Month Virtual Panel Discussions and Live Celebration
NORRISTOWN, PA – Montgomery County’s Black History Month Committee invites the community to attend virtual panel discussions and live celebration for Black History Month. This year’s program will focus on the national theme, “Black Resistance,” as established by the Association for the Study of African American Life & History (ASALH).
Join the discussions and live celebration "to keep these critical conversations about creating equity in housing, homelessness, food insecurity, education, employment and other topics at the forefront to support the County's racial equity work," said Kenneth E. Lawrence, Vice Chair of the Montgomery County Board of Commissioners.
Discussion panels will be held on Wednesdays in February from noon - 1:30 p.m. Learn more about the program here.
Virtual - Registration is required for each event. You will receive the Zoom link to the event after you register:
o Wednesday, Feb. 1: Housing, Homelessness, and Food Programs - REGISTER
o Wednesday, Feb. 8: Education, Financial Institutions, and Employment - REGISTER
o Wednesday, Feb. 15: Law Enforcement, Policing, and Community Advocacy and Organizing - REGISTER
In-Person Event - Wednesday, Feb. 22 - 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM
Our in-person event has returned! This is a celebration with music, singing, dancing, etc. Registration is not required to attend. Lunch will be served after the program.
