Virtual Program

The Galápagos are one of the world's most isolated archipelagos.  Approximately 600 miles off the coast of Ecuador, this collection of volcanic islands are a nature lover's dream.  Through the process of natural selection, the Galápagos are teaming with endemic species found nowhere else on earth.  Join Scott Santino, a Mass Audubon Education Manager and Teacher Naturalist, for a virtual tour across many of the larger islands and learn about Giant Tortoises, Marine Iguanas, Flightless Cormorants, Darwin's Finches, and penguins swimming in Pacific waters along the equator.  Scott led trips to the Galápagos to interpret the islands' bird life in 2018 and 2019.

About the presenter: Scott Santino is a teacher naturalist at Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary in Topsfield, where he has been leading nature education programs for Massachusetts Audubon since 1998.  He is the Camp Director of Ipswich River Day Camps and coordinates the sanctuary’s volunteer docent program, training adults in natural history interpretation.  In addition to birding, some of Scott’s other interests include tracking mammals, leading canoe trips, and studying vernal pools.  He has led trips throughout New England and beyond, including Cape May, New Jersey; the Delmarva Peninsula; New York’s Finger Lakes region; Big Bend, Texas; and the mountains of Southeast Arizona.

This presentation will be held online via Zoom.  Register and receive program link by entering your information below.  Any questions? Contact DeAnne O'Brien at dobrien@ivpl.org.
