The National Park Service preserves and protects special places for all people. From huge Sequoia trees in California to the Statue of Liberty in New York City, park rangers share the stories of these special places. Did you know there is a National Park Service site here in "your backyard"? Join Park Ranger Flor in learning about the National Park Service system and the stories of Steamtown National Historic Site.
Presented by: Ranger Flor Blum grew up in San Diego, California. She went to St. John's University in New York City where she earned a Masters in Public History. She has been working for the National Park Service for nine years. Before coming to Steamtown National Historic Site, she was stationed at the Statue of Liberty National Monument for six years. Other parks she has worked at include Federal Hall National Monument and Ellis Island Museum of Immigration (both located in New York City). Her favorite park activity is swearing in visitors as junior rangers.
