Have you ever wanted to know how people create games, utilities, and apps? It all begins with programming. In this camp, you will learn the basics of how to write your very own program using a language called C++! C++ is a great language to learn because so many other languages are based on it. After learning C++, you will have a basis of knowledge to let you quickly learn languages like Java (used to make Minecraft), Swift (used to make iPhone Apps), or JavaScript (used in web development), to name a few.

In this camp, we will learn core coding concepts that can be applied to these other languages. Key concepts include variable data types, conditional logic, program structure, console window, receiving input from the user, and generating well-formatted output. We will build a student grade calculation program from scratch that starts out simple and finishes with advanced output, arrays, and more. So come along and let’s begin our journey!

It is recommended that your student have very basic coding experience before attending this camp. Scratch, Blockly, HTML, JavaScript workshops would all count.

This camp will run from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM, ET, each day. You must attend all 3 days.

Students will need access to a computer (Chromebooks OK!) and the internet. No tablets. Please create a free Repl.it account prior to the event.
