The 134-acre Preserve hosts a living plant collection that features over 700 of Pennsylvania's 2,000 native plant species. It is also known for birdwatching opportunities—more than 110 species can be seen at the Preserve over the course of a year. 4½ miles of trails allow visitors to explore plants in a wide variety of ecological habitats. The main floor of the Visitor Center, the restrooms and the parking lot are accessible. Though there is not a food concession at the Preserve, picnics are permitted in the designated area. A book and gift shop is on the premises. Parking is free.

The Bucks County Children's Museum, located in New Hope, PA, provides opportunities to learn through playing for children, from walking one-year-olds to those seven years of age. Themed interactive exhibits include a turn-of-the-century general store and train, Factory Works (an area for fostering engineering skills), a medicine area for “ambulance drivers” and “junior doctors,” a fossil “dig,” and Airways to Waterways (dedicated to air, wind and energy of light experiments). Sensory backpacks are available for children with special needs. The museum is ADA compliant, with one level and most exhibits accessible by wheelchair.

The John James Audubon Center at Mill Grove is situated on a historic 18th-century site, the farm where 18-year-old John James Audubon lived when he came from France in 1803. The portraits of birds contained in his seminal work The Birds of America helped inspire the formation of the National Audubon Society, the institution which manages the 175-acre estate. The site includes the original three-story farmhouse built in 1762 (a National Historic Landmark), miles of nature trails along the Perkiomen Creek, and a new building which features indoor and outdoor exhibits focused on birds, art, and conservation.

The Mütter Museum of the College of Physicians of Philadelphia is dedicated to the history of medicine. Its collection of anatomical specimens, models, and old medical instruments are displayed in a 19th-century “cabinet museum” setting. These include a number of human skeletons and skulls, as well as various wax models used for the study of various pathologies in the human body. A portion of the museum's holdings are displayed in permanent exhibits. (Of special note are slides of the brain of Albert Einstein.) The Penn Museum is located in a unique Arts and Crafts and Eclectic style building on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania. It is home to over a million artifacts, ethnographic objects, and archaeological finds from Africa, Asia, the Americas, and the Mediterranean. Begun in 1887, the collection is organized in eleven curatorial sections documenting the peoples of Africa, Asia, Oceania, and the Americas. Many of the items in the collection were obtained directly through its own field excavations or anthropological research. Highlights include a 16th century commemorative plaque from Benin; an old stone monument from Guatemala depicting a ruler surrounded by Mayan glyph writing; the Sphinx of Ramses II, the largest ancient Egyptian sphinx in the Western Hemisphere; a statue of a seated pharaoh Ramses II (1290–1224 BCE); a Sioux headdress, a war bonnet made around 1890; a cloisonné statue of a lion from the Qing Dynasty era; a large marble relief once part of a commemorative monument for the Roman emperor Domitian (95 CE); an amphora made in Athens around 535 BCE which depicts the death of Achilles in battle; and a terracotta sculpture of a female head of the type typically attached to the roof tiles of an Etruscan temple of the 4th century BCE. There is a gift shop and a café on the premises.

The Schwenkfelder Library & Heritage Center allows visitors to explore religious freedom, tolerance, migration, and heritage through the history of the Schwenkfelders. Heavily persecuted in Europe, these Protestants arrived here in the early 1700s seeking religious freedom. The museum's extensive collection consists of three- and two-dimensional artifacts, textiles, and art, including various household furnishings and farm tools from the colonial period through the early 20th century. The library contains many primary and secondary sources on Schwenkfelder and Silesian history, local history, genealogy, and Pennsylvania German history and culture. A Pennsylvania German barn, constructed in 1826, was moved to the grounds in 2020. There is also a gift shop on the premises. A wheelchair is available at no charge. All floors are accessible by elevator; the upper level of the barn is accessible by lift.

The Shofuso Japanese House and Garden

The Shofuso Japanese House and Garden is a 17th century traditional-style Japanese house and garden in Philadelphia that reflects the history of Japanese culture in Philadelphia. Shofuso was built in Japan in 1953 using traditional techniques and materials. Before being moved to its current location, the house was exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Twenty murals inspired by the waterfall, donated by the artist by Hiroshi Senju, are on view. A garden with koi pond and island, a tea garden, and a courtyard garden comprise the 17th century-style Japanese garden of this historic site and museum. Note that, because Shofuso is a reproduction of a 17th century house, it is not wheelchair or scooter accessible, nor is it easily accessible to users of walkers, canes, or prosthetics.

The museum, a part of the Boston National Historical Park, is located in the Charlestown Navy Yard near the ship USS Constitution (“Old Ironsides”) at the end of Boston’s Freedom Trail. The museum provides a detailed look at the history of the ship, information about the war of 1812, and the battle between the ship and HMS Java. Stories are told through interactive exhibits, unique artifacts, archival records, and artwork. The museum also includes a research library which houses a strong collection of manuscripts, books, artifacts, and microfilm of primary source material. The ship itself is maintained by the US Navy, and may be visited free of charge on certain days.
