[Details/Reserve]

The campus of the Brandywine Conservancy and Museum of Art consists of 15 acres of buildings, native plant gardens, and a river trail. The museum, situated in a former gristmill built in 1864 that was part of the Conservancy's first preservation efforts, houses a collection focused on American art, with an emphasis on the art of the Brandywine region, American illustration, still life and landscape painting, and the work of three generations of Wyeths. For an extra fee, visitors may take a tour of some nearby sites—the house and studio of N. C. Wyeth; the studio of his son, Andrew Wyeth; and the Kuerner Farm, a major source of inspiration to the younger artist. There is a café on the premises.
